Atlanta, GA --
Friends and family say a 14-year-old boy was killed at a downtown Atlanta train station after a man accused him of stealing a cell phone.
Family members tell the media Rueben Hand died after his throat was cut by a knife.
Diamante Drake tells WGCL-TV he was with Hand following the New Year's Eve Peach Drop in downtown Atlanta. Drake, who's 18, says Rueben and a friend were about to get on a MARTA train when a man accused them of stealing his cell phone.
The teens told the man they didn't have his phone and an argument followed. Drake says that's when the man stabbed Hand.
MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris confirms that the stabbing happened early Saturday. But he says MARTA police are not identifying the
victim because he's a juvenile.
The slaying remains under investigation.
