Tallahassee, Florida --

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Computer Crime Center and investigators with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office today arrested John Buckley, 59, of Leon County Fla., and charged him with 55 counts of distribution of child pornography and 12 counts of possession of child pornography.

Buckley became a suspect on August 31 during an undercover investigation by FDLE’s Computer Crime Center. During the investigation, an FDLE agent received images displaying the sexual performance by a child on a private file sharing network from the suspect. The agent was able to trace images that had been shared online back to Buckley’s home computer.

FDLE agents executed a search warrant at Buckley’s home, located at 9543 Woodville Highway, and located hundreds of images of child pornography.

Buckley was booked into the Leon County Jail. Additional charges are pending a complete forensic examination of all computers located in Buckley’s home

FDLE is an active member of the three Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces in Florida. There are 59 federally-funded task forces nationwide created solely to investigate Internet crimes against children that include the online sexual exploitation of children and child pornography.

The web page code, tells the server what pages or image to serve the user. The user does not do that. You need to prosecute the ones loading the images to the servers and the databases. Not the users who may have just unknowingly rolled their mouse over a hyper text lynk disguised as something else. I am not for this type of prosecution because a user can roll their mouse over something and receive an image on their hard drive that they never intentionally requested. You guys goole 3 school and study java script for a few minutes, you will see what I am talking about.

This was his computer doing the serving, and who do you think set this up? It was probably a P2P program, but still he was allowing others to download it from his computer so he was charged with distribution.

I thought that, too, a few years ago. Then someone pointed out that as long as there is a market for those photos (ie: Money) people will keep doing this to more children to produce those photos for these guys. To me, that made sense - otherwise, it is only pictures. With more and more digital photo cameras imprinting a gps co-ordinate into the pictures, I hope to see alot more children located and rescued from this abuse.

Yeah, pictures displaying sexual performance by a child, that this perv was in possession of, and circulated on the internet. You trying to imply that's ok, John??

It's a proven fact stated to me by several psychologist friends, I know personally and also many studies done, there is NO cure for people like Mr. Buckley for the brain misfire he has going on in his head. Placing him in a prison for me as a tax-payer to "support" drives me nuts. I want my money to go towards ensuring that each and every child have the chance to be a HAPPY child without abuse such as this from a stranger or sometimes a relative involved. We have two ways to handle this situation. 1..put them IN "general population" in prison, which is not currently done for their protection. This is a crime hated by even the most non-violent offenders in prison, so let the people with little to lose take care of it. 2nd choice..is a trial and the punishment death penalty to be carried out ASAP! The #1 choice will get the job done faster and no possibilty of ever a "one more time repeat offender" among the civilized population for children who deserve to be safe!!

Great Job FDLE in catching this Trash! I can only hope Atty Jack Campbell hammers him in court and keeps him away from our community and children forever.

What I would like to see happen. Take all these guys and match them up to fight each other on pay-per-view. Let them fight to the death. If you win, you will get another year before you fight again. This would really only work for those on death row, but it would help pay for keeping these guys locked up.
