October 13, 2011 -

A 70-year-old school bus monitor in Florida was caught on tape beating a 14-year-old student.

Yvonne Branch resigned from the Polk County School District in June after administrators began investigating allegations she attacked a young boy while the bus was parked at Lakeland High School. Branch now faces child abuse and battery charges. The state attorney's office released the video which shows Branch hitting the boy and even putting him in a headlock and biting his back. The scuffle began after the boy tossed a younger student over a seat. Branch's attorney says her client understands her behavior was inappropriate but contends no laws were broken because she was defending herself and others.

Polk County Schools says even if she felt threatened, there were other options available to assist her.

Some elderly don't respect themselves. Her behavior was absolutely out of line. You don't put your hands on anybody else child as you would not want them to put their hands on your child. Keep messing with other people's children, end up in jail and see what they do to you. She will not survive a week. They are going to kill her, but it it your race you are encouraging to go down that path. Keep doing that, that blacks feeding blacks bad advice. You all are more destructive to the black race than any white person ever could be. Ownit

The issue is not nor should be about race, Sadly but true enough, we have a group of disobedient and disrespectful children. There was wrong on both parts, the bus driver was wrong for her actions, but it didn't start with her attacking the child. It started with her allowing to play in that manner. They should not be allowed to play in that way on a bus at all. What happens if the other child gets hurt, will the school board be liable? And if you really look at it, horseplaying to that level is so close to bullying, when and where do we draw the line?

That child was 14 years old. Sitting down against the bus wall, away from the aisle. He was clearly retreating from her She was charging him standing up above him pulping him and had a 200 lb advantage over him. There was no self defense, he was not in attack mode. She was. Keep your hands off of our children.

"no laws were broken because she was defending herself and others?" Ok so when the father of that child shoots her,to protect his child, is that same law going to protect him? Or when the white male teacher, does the same thing to a black elementary child who is bullying the next kid over, is that law going to protect them? So now we are going to have a case to set precedence that is ok for educators to bite and strangle hold any child that they can say were bullying another child?

You will probably find that the child acts just like the parents.

Blacks attacking white children is not acceptable, anymore than it would be acceptable for whites to start attacking black children. You want to rob business and people because you don't like their race that is one thing, but you start attacking their children, that is a whole another ball of wax. I just telling you, you are pushing it when you start going after their children.

She was p off because she was wiping down the seats, cleaning them and they were going right behind her messing them up. She view it as complete disrespect and she was going to teach him some respect. There was no bullying, except on her part.

What you people don't know was there was no bullying going on.. the 14 year old and younger boy were playing like they do everyday.. the bus driver even said they play all the time.. and the 14 year old never hurt the bus monitor!! Everyone always jumping to conclusions.. she deserves to be fired!!

What I wanted to think, was that when a black community have 3 black children and their mother being brutally attacked and killed by a drug dealer, in their close tight nit neighborhood right in front of them, that one of them would have intervene to save them. Yet none did. In fact they all sat back, aligned together in silence to suppress the part of the evidence that involved drug dealer so that the father would be charged and prosecuted for the murders. What I don't believe is that those people, who would not protect their own children, are now attacking this child in an attempt to protect our children. I don't believe that for a minute. Keep your hands off of our kids.

No, I did kind of think that when I watch that video. To me it look like she was wiping down the seats and then in their horseplay, they messed up the seat she had just clean and she was upset about that and the complete lack of respect for her cleaning.
