Palm Beach Commissioners Sue Over State Gun Law

West Palm Beach, FL (AP) - The Palm Beach County Commission is
suing top state officials over a law that forbids local governments
form passing their own gun regulations.

Filed Tuesday in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, the lawsuit
names Gov. Rick Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Florida
House and the Florida Senate.

According to the Palm Beach Post (, the
suit claims the new law is unconstitutional. County officials say
the law violates the separation of powers because it gives the
governor the ability to remove local officials from office and
strips local officials of immunity from lawsuits.

The law's sponsor, Sen. Joe Negron, R-Stuart, says the penalties
are necessary because local officials have previously ignored a law
that keeps the power to regulate guns with the Florida Legislature.

NO ONE should have Immunity from Lawsuits, NO ONE. A Gun Law should be designed for the whole State, not just a County or City.

The Palm Beach Commissioners must be voted out of office, they certainley do not speak for the rights of the people. I would assume they are all Liberals and supporters of Obama! VOTE THEM ALL OUT OF OFFICE.

State law trumps local law. Read the Florida Constitution. These idiots tying up the courts and wasting money.

All the laws in the world will not make a difference. With the amount of violence and the lack of enforcement I'd rather be armed and safe whether lawfully so or not.

I agree 100% Jon. Requiring a CCW is unconstitutional. We have a born right to carry. Our constitution states so.
