Verdict In For Robbery & Murder Trial In Corner Store Shooting

Tallahassee, FL - A man has just been found guilty in a Tallahassee murder trial.

Shedrach Paul was accused of shooting and killing Muhammad Kofar-Naisa outside a convenience store on West Tharpe Street back in June 2012. The verdict just came in at about 5:30. The jury deliberated for six hours. It found Paul guilty of second degree murder.

He was sentenced to life in prison.

Leon County, FL - A Leon County grand jury has indicted Shedrach Paul in the June 1st murder of Muhammad Naisa.

An arraignment is set for July 24th.

Tallahassee, FL - On Friday, June 1, 2012, at approximately 5PM, the Tallahassee Police officers responded to the Time Saver in the 2500 block of West Tharpe Street in reference to an altercation. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. The male, later identified as 25-year- old Muhammad Fudahal Kofar Naisa, was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

During the course of the investigation, probable cause was established for the arrest of 19- year- old Shedrach J. Paul, the suspect of the shooting on West Tharpe Street. Paul was taken into custody without incident, after being hospitalized for injuries he sustained from a traffic crash following the homicide.

Paul was also charged with four armed robberies which occurred in Tallahassee last month and for violating his probation.

Charges: 1st Degree Murder,Robbery w/a Firearm (4 Counts), False Imprisonment (2 counts), Possession of a Firearm by a Delinquent (4 counts), Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a felony (4 counts), Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (3 counts), VOP/ Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (3 counts) and VOP/ Robbery by Sudden Snatching

Tallahassee, FL -- June 4, 2012 --

On Friday, June 2, 2012, at approximately 5PM, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to the Time Saver in the 2500 block of West Tharpe Street in reference to an altercation. Upon arrival officers discovered a male lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. The male later identified as 25-year- old Muhammad Fudahal Kofar Naisa was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Tallahassee Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Units responded to the scene for further investigation. The investigation is on-going.

TPD investigators are attempting to identify the suspect in this case. Community members with information about this case are asked to call TPD at 891-4200 or the Big Bend Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS. UPDATE -- June 1, 2012 6:30pm --

Tallahassee Police responded to call after 5pm about an altercation at Timesaver gas station on Tharpe Street.

When police arrived there was a black man with a gunshot wound. He has been taken to local hospital, but his condition is not known at this time.

Investigation ongoing, but would not elaborate if they are looking for a suspect.

Tallahassee, FL -- June 1, 2012 --

Tallahassee Police are investigating a shooting at a Sunoco gas station at 2520 West Tharpe Street.

There is also a crash at the corner of Blountstown Street and Allison Marie court that may be linked to the incident. {UPDATE: TPD says this is no longer believed to be in any way connected to the shooting}

Not many details are available at this time but WCTV has a crew on scene and is trying to gather more information.
