A Tallahassee jury is about to hear the story behind an SUV riddled with bullet holes.

Brandon Grice will stand trial this week for a shooting at the Oak Pointe Apartments in May 2011.

Grice and another man, Antwonne Nelson, are accused of trying to rob four men as they pulled up in front of building 15.

The driver told police the men opened fire on his SUV as he sped away. Police say there were shattered windows and at least 12 bullet holes in the SUV.

A passenger was shot in the knee, but survived.

Nelson has already entered a plea to attempted murder and attempted armed robbery. He was sentenced last week to 20 years in prison and five more on probation.

Testimony in Grice's case will begin Wednesday morning.

TMH confirms that extra security was brought in after the shooting victim came into the ER. Warren Jones, a spokesperson for TMH, says that extra security was brought in because in these situations, family and friends will sometimes get upset and tensions can run high. The extra security was a standard precaution. Jones further states that patents were free to come and go. No one was turned away, kicked out, and the ER was not locked down.
