A guilty verdict out of Gadsden County this afternoon.
Willie Westberry was convicted of first degree murder in the death of Sterling Johnson, the defense attorney confirmed.
Johnson was shot and killed outside CJ's lounge in Chattahoochee back in April of 2013.
A second man was shot, but survived.
Defense attorney John Eagen says the jury deliberated for about two hours before reaching that verdict.
Westberry is set to be sentenced March 1st.

A Gadsden County grand jury returned an indictment for first degree murder and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm with a firearm today on Willie G. Westberry, 26 of Tallahassee, FL.
In the early morning hours of April 27, 2013 a shooting took place at CJ’s Lounge in Chattahoochee, FL. The shooting resulted in the death of Sterling Johnson who received multiple gunshot wounds, and according to some witnesses at the scene, some of these wounds were inflicted after the victim lay on the ground after being shot.
The shooting also resulted in Tyrone Jackson receiving a gunshot wound to the leg. The Medical Examiner determined the death of Sterling Johnson to be a homicide.

The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal North Florida Fugitive Task Force, arrested 25 year old Willie Gene Westberry III today on a homicide that occurred in Gadsden County, Florida. Westberry has been on the run since April 2013 after shooting and killing a 29 year old Sterling Johnson of Chattahoochee, FL outside of a Chattahoochee night club. Westberry is being held in the Leon County Jail without bond.
Tallahassee, FL - US Marshals have arrested Willie Westberry at an apartment complex in Tallahassee. He was found at the Magnolia Terrace Apartments in Tallahassee just after 3 this afternoon. He was found at a friend's apartment.

Gadsden County, FL - Gadsden County deputies are asking for your help in finding a murder suspect.
Willie Gene Westberry, is a suspect in a deadly shooting over the weekend. Gadsden County Sheriffs Office is asking Westberry to peacefully surrender.
Westberry is considered armed and dangerous. Deputies say, he was involved in a bar fight early Saturday morning, where he shot two people. One of them died.

Chattahoochee, Florida - Shots rang out at this Chattahoochee, Florida nightclub on Lincoln Road early Saturday morning.
Gadsden County Sheriff's Office say, a fight broke out, leaving 28-year-old Sterling Johnson dead and his friend injured. Johnson was lying on the ground in front of the club when officials arrived. The victim's friends just want answers.
"I want to cry right now in front of everybody because it shouldn't have went down like that, man," said Samuel Danton, the victim's friend. "I wish it could be me in his shoes, instead of him."
Johnson's friends say the other victim was named Tyrone Jackson. The Sheriff's Office says, he suffered a gunshot wound to the lower leg and was transported to the hospital and later released.
"Club reopened under new management about a month ago," said Charles Peterson, a Chattahoochee Resident. "People get alcohol in them and they get out of hand sometimes I guess."
Now, now friends gather together at the local hang out to mourn their loss.
"You ain't leaving homie you still in my heart," said Danton.

On April 27th, 2013 at approximately 3:29 am, the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office responded to C.J.’s Lounge in Chattahoochee, Florida in reference to a shooting that occurred after a fight inside of the club.
Responding deputies located Sterling S. Johnson, a 28 year old black male, lying on the ground in front of the night club with several people administering CPR. Johnson died from a gunshot wound as efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
A second victim, who received a gunshot wound to the lower right leg was transported to the hospital, treated and released later this same morning. Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office investigators and special agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are currently working several leads.

A homicide investigation is underway in Gadsden County after a man was found shot to death outside a nightclub.
Investigators with the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office say it happened shortly before 3:30AM along Lincoln Drive in Chattahoochee.
The victim was an African American male, but investigators have not released his age or name at this time. They say he was shot multiple times.
Anyone with information on this crime should contact The Sheriff's Office immediately.
