Press Release: Cairo Police Department
On May 28th, 2013, Officers from the Cairo Police Department responded to the Best Western Inn, located on US 84 in Cairo, in reference to suspected drug activity. Upon arrival, Officers learned that the room associated with the complaint of the suspected drug activity was rented to Denise Baggett, of Cairo. Officers observed Baggett, and a known male passenger, in her 1997 Infinity. Officers approached the Infinity as it parked at the Best Western parking lot. The male passenger fled from the scene on foot. A search of the Infinity revealed that the two occupants were transporting 22 individual packages of Methamphetamine, that had been packaged for distribution; a small quantity of marijuana; digital scales; and .357 caliber pistol.
Denise Baggett (24 YOA) was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime. Warrants will be signed against the male passenger upon further investigation.
