LCSO Press Release - The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance in locating Lashonda S. James, 34. James is wanted in connection with a fraud investigation involving the theft of at least three victim’s personal checks.
Detectives say James had access to the victim’s checks and identification information while riding in their vehicles. After stealing the checks, detectives believe that James forged checks in her name and then cashed them at area banks.
James either cashed or attempted to cash approximately $5,000.00 worth of stolen and forged checks.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Lashonda James is asked to call the Leon County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 922-3300 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS (8477). Remember, Crime
