Tallahassee, Florida (Press Release) --

On September 17, 2010 at about 12:40am, a student was leaving a
residence in the 800 Block of Pensacola Street (near the area east of
the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Pensacola St) when he was
approached by four males, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The suspects demanded the personal belongings of the student and he
complied. The student was then told to run away. The suspects are
believed to have fled the scene as well at that point. FSU Police and
Tallahassee Police searched the immediate and surrounding areas for the suspects but they were not located. The student was not injured during the offense.

The student described the suspects as follows: Four males, black, all
wearing dark or black clothing, and all about 5ft 10in or less in
height. One of the suspects who was described as staying back was
further described as having short cropped hair with a twist. The
suspect who was armed with a handgun was also described as wearing a ski mask.

The Florida State University Police Department is actively investigating
this case. If you have any information regarding this offense, the
suspects, or suspicious activity possibly related to this incident,
please contact the FSU Police Department at 850 644 1234. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Big Bend Crime Stoppers at 850 574 TIPS (8477). Remember, with Crime Stoppers, they do not want your name, just your information, and you may be eligible for a reward of up to 1000 dollars.

Oh students can't arm themselves because FSU PD will protect them! Yeah right, a few thousand feet from the station a kid gets popped. Nice to see that FSUPD is still more worried about underage drinking than the real crime coming in from French town

What's the matter Cyhthia.Nobody made a booty call at your place last night? Why blame the victim? He has the right to come and go as he chooses. No one has the right to rob him.

Stop going on late night booty calls and you might have this problem. He should have been bed asleep anyway.

This cannot be true.......weapons are outlawed on campus.....might be why all the crooks are headed to campus.

Pensacola and Woodward is a block away from where the FSUPD station is. Clearly no where is safe in tallahassee. Maybe police should try procative policing(patrolling, crime prevention) rather than reactive(waiting for something to happen).
