Tallahassee, Florida (Press Release) --
On September 17, 2010 at about 12:40am, a student was leaving a
residence in the 800 Block of Pensacola Street (near the area east of
the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Pensacola St) when he was
approached by four males, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The suspects demanded the personal belongings of the student and he
complied. The student was then told to run away. The suspects are
believed to have fled the scene as well at that point. FSU Police and
Tallahassee Police searched the immediate and surrounding areas for the suspects but they were not located. The student was not injured during the offense.
The student described the suspects as follows: Four males, black, all
wearing dark or black clothing, and all about 5ft 10in or less in
height. One of the suspects who was described as staying back was
further described as having short cropped hair with a twist. The
suspect who was armed with a handgun was also described as wearing a ski mask.
The Florida State University Police Department is actively investigating
