Hugh Cunningham, the 21-year-old man shot outside a Tallahassee apartment complex, has been confirmed dead this morning.
That's according to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Cunningham was shot just after 3:00 p.m. Thursday on the west side of town near FSU. When Tallahassee Police Department arrived on scene, Cunningham was alone bleeding to death in the parking lot of his apartment complex.
Decca Rodriguez, who lives at Berkshire Apartments says, "I saw what looked like someone who just got hurt on the floor laying down and it looks like books were everywhere and a couple other people came out side and there was just blood, I think he got hurt on his back"
Cunningham took a single gunshot wound to his torso at Berkshire Manor Apartments at Ocala Road and Continental Avenue. At Berkshire this comes as a shock to the many students who live here.
Andrew Baird, a student who lives at Birkshire Apartments says, "This is the first time that something like this has happened in my neighborhood or in my complex, so, i mean, nothing has come as close to me personally as this."
Paramedics rushed Cunningham to the hospital where he has undergone surgery, while police search high and low for the suspect. Cunningham's condition is not known at this time and police will not know the shooter's motives until further investigation
Officers are now searching for a new suspect vehicle. It's a late model Chevrolet Impala with dark- tinted windows and fancy after-market rims. If you have any information you can call Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
