The woman accused of robbing two South Georgia businesses, before crashing her car, has died.

Georgia State Patrol Troopers have identified the suspected robber as 54-year-old Mary Daniels from Albany.

According to investigators, Daniels attempted to rob a liquor store in Thomasville, where she was thwarted by an employee who wrestled the gun from her.

After that attempted robbery, they say Daniels robbed The Bank of Pavo.

During her getaway, however, Daniels ran off the road into a body of water.

She was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries on Saturday.


According to Thomas County Sheriff's Deputies:

A woman involved in a crash on SR 188 Friday afternoon has been confirmed as a suspect in one attempted robbery and one bank robbery in Thomas County.

The suspect reportedly attempted to rob a liquor store in Thomasville where she was thwarted by an employee that wrestled the gun from her.

After the attempted robbery of the liquor store, the suspect robbed a Pavo bank, although the details of this robbery or any amount of money stolen has not been released by authorities yet.

The suspect was driving westbound on SR 188 when she ran off of the road into a body of water.

Thomas County Sheriffs responded to the scene at 3:50 p.m.

The suspect, described as a heavy-set black female, was taken to Archbold Medical Center. Her identity and extent of injuries has not been released.

As of 7 p.m., the suspect is reported still alive.

The investigation has been turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Thomasville, GA - A local liquor store was held up earlier today by a woman with a gun, however, the clerk made sure she didn't get away with the crime.

Reportedly, a black female suspect walked into the Carolle Hill Package Store in Thomasville around 1:45 p.m. and asked the clerk for money.

The woman is described as a heavy set black female in her late 20's wearing a light colored top, blue jeans and a black bandana covering her face.

She walked up to the register, pointed the gun and asked for money.

She then made her way behind the counter which at that point the clerk wrestled with her and was able to get the gun away from her.

The clerk then pulled the suspect outside where he yelled for someone to call police. The suspect was able to get away.

She ran to her car which was parked on the side of the building and fled.

The car she was driving is described as an older model black Toyota Camry. Thomasville Police are still investigating the crime and we will continue to bring you the latest details as they become available.
