A shoplifter is caught on tape, but you won't believe what he's accused of stealing.
Leon County deputies say the man struck at the Wal Mart on Apalachee Parkway and the one on Thomasville Road in the same night.
Deputies say each time, he managed to slip the items through the fence in the garden center.
He's accused of stealing three Dyson vacuum cleaners. They sell for between $299 and $649 on the Wal Mart web site.
LCSO released surveillance pictures of the man and his car. He's described as a Hispanic man in his 30's, 6'2", 250 pounds.
He was driving a late model two door Nissan.
Deputies say he stole approximately $2000 worth of vacuum cleaners and other items.
Tallahassee, Florida - March 6, 2012 -
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance in identifying the suspect pictured above. On March 1, 2012 at 2:30 am, the suspect was captured on video surveillance at 5500 Thomasville Road (Wal-Mart). During this incident, the suspect acquired electronics, DVD’s and video games. The items were taken to the garden center and passed through the fence. The suspect loaded the items into the vehicle pictured below and left the area.
Later, at 4:36 am, the suspect was captured on video surveillance taking three Dyson vacuum cleaners and passing them through a hole in the fence of the garden center at 3535 Apalachee Parkway (Wal- Mart). The items were placed into the same vehicle before it left the area.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with information about this incident to contact the Crimes against Property Unit at (850) 922-3401 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPPS (8477).
