Tallahassee, FL - Police say a local state worker has been arrested after attempting to solicit a child to meet and engage in sexual acts.
According to police, 45-year-old Richard Luten is accused of first sending an unsolicited instant message to an undercover profile, he believed to be a 14-year-old girl’s, before engaging in conversation and eventually asking to meet the child.
Luten offered to bring the child to his house, have some wine, and show her "what it's like to be with a man". He also told the child he would get her into a night club and advised her to get a "drag queen" to dress her because "they are a master at looking older."
Luten was arrested on August 9 2013, and charged with using a computer service, communication device to solicit a child and facilitate a felony, as well as obscene communication and luring a child.
Another man, Joshua Hardin, also of Tallahassee, was arrested after connecting with an undercover operation online, he believed to be a 13-year-old boy.
25-year-old Hardin, who claimed to actually be 18-years-old online, asked to meet the child in person, and was arrested that same day.
Hardin has been charged with using a computer to solicit a child and using a communication device to commit a felony.
