News Release: Valdosta Police Department

On December 11, 2013 at approximately 8:15 am, Jason Day came to the Valdosta Police Department to file a report indicating that at approximately 2:00 am in the area of Toombs Street and West Hill Avenue, he had been robbed at gun point, assaulted, and kidnapped (forced to drive around town).

After approximately three hours of detectives questioning Day about the inconsistencies in his stories, he finally admitted that he was not telling the truth and that the incident involved an attempted narcotics transaction.

Due to the waste of multiple man hours from detectives and officers of the Valdosta Police Department, Day was arrested and charged with giving a false statement and obstruction. Day was transported to the Lowndes County Jail.

Anyone having any further information regarding this crime or any other crime is urged to contact the Valdosta Police Department at 229-293-3145 or can remain anonymous at 229-293-3091.
