Man Arrested After Pointing Gun During Argument

Tallahassee, Fla. -- Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Sunday April 13, 2014 at 1:51 pm deputies of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 7268 NE Rocky Ford Road in Madison regarding an altercation involving a firearm. Upon arrival deputies spoke with the victim who reported that he and Jason Stephenson were engaged in a verbal argument when Stephenson retrieved a .38 caliber handgun and stuck it to the victim’s chest stating he would kill the victim.

Stephenson was located at the same address and denied getting or using a gun however when confronted with the statements from independent witnesses, Stephenson changed his story. Stephenson admitted to arming himself with a .38 caliber handgun and pointing the gun at the chest of the victim while threatening to kill him. Stephenson further stated that he hid the gun in a field once Law Enforcement had been called.

Deputies were able to locate and seize the handgun as evidence and arrested Stephenson without further incident.
