Marianna, FL - On 16 February 2011 at approx 2:11 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a burglary of an occupied dwelling located on Liddon Street in Marianna, Florida. Upon Officers arrival the resident reported that he was asleep on the couch when he was awakened by a loud noise. He got up from the couch and went to the back door where he found that a large air conditioning unit had been pushed from a window into the residence. The burglar had entered the residence and was standing just inside the room in front of the window.
The resident stated he startled the suspect who turned and fled back out of the window in a southerly direction into a wooded area. Officers also found that the resident’s vehicle had been entered and burglarized. Missing from the vehicle was the owner’s wallet. The suspect had also tried to remove stereo components from the vehicle but did not manage to remove anything.
Canine tracking units from the Jackson Correctional Institute and Appalachee Correctional Institute were called but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect(s).
