Valdosta, GA - We're continuing our coverage of a Lowndes High School student found dead at school. His family is now launching new allegations.
17 year old Kendrick Johnson was found rolled up in a gym mat in January. The autopsy report ruled it an accident. His family however says it has obtained a report from the Coroner's Office contradicting parts of the report filed by the Sheriff's Office.
They claim it shows the body was found in a different position, with his feet in the mat and not his head. And they also say there was bruising on his chin that was previously not reported.
"It's not the whole story but certainly what it does is it brings to light information that the Sheriff's Department had in large measure relied upon but now is shown to be false," said Chevene King, attorney for the family.
"We're determined to get to the bottom of this because we know what they're feeding us is not what we're eating. We know it's not the truth because you don't find folks in the condition that he was in when there's nothing suspicious about it," said Eddie Tooley, KJ's grandfather.
We reached out to the Sheriff's Office and the Coroner. Neither were available for comment.
