Police discover a body during a manhunt.

Now they're trying to figure out who it is and what happened.

Tallahassee Police found the remains in the woods near Pullen Road as they searched for a burglary suspect Tuesday.

The remains were so badly decomposed they could not tell if it was a man or a woman.

A TPD spokesman says investigators are counting on an autopsy today to answer lots of questions.

We'll let you know if and when they're able to identify the body and pinpoint the cause of death.

Local police chased a man wanted for burglary and found more than just the suspect.

As they chased down the suspect, a K-9 helped lead them to a body in the woods.

It was a busy day on the 1500 block of Pullen Road.

Tallahassee police found a man wanted for burglary at a nearby hotel, but he took off into areas bordering the street.

As police looked for him, a K-9 led them to another discovery. They found a body in the woods.

"That kind of bothers you, you know, just to hear that," said Clarence Green, local resident.

Police say it was around 2 when the suspect took off from the Red Roof Inn and then ran through the woods off Pullen Road and made the alarming discovery of the body.

"TPD works all cases where they're unattended as if they were a homicide," said Dave Northway, Public Information Officer for TPD. "We're not sure if this was a natural death, a homicide, but we are working at it as if it is a homicide like we always do."

TPD says the two cases are unrelated. Police tracked down the burglary suspect and arrested him in an area near I-10.

Witnesses we spoke with all say they were alarmed but believe this area is safe.

"The police are here, so they here to make the neighborhood safe and to make the people feel secure in their homes," said Green.

As for the body found, police are still investigating and releasing very little details at this time.

Police say they do not have a time table on when they'll release more information about the body.
