Pictures Of Suspect Released In Credit Union Robbery [SLIDE SHOW]

Press Release: Tallahassee Police Department

The Tallahassee Police Department was called to the Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union at approximately 10:00am yesterday for a reported armed robbery. The suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the employees. He fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money. Patrol officers responded to the location and immediately secured the crime scene. Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit and the Forensic Unit responded and began to interview all parties involved and collect all available evidence.

The suspect is described as a black male and is pictured in the 2 images attached to this release. TPD Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case, to please contact the Tallahassee Police Department at (850)891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.


Gulf Winds’ Response to North Monroe St. Robbery:

Tallahassee, Fla. (June 12, 2013) – Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union’s North Monroe St. Branch, 218 N. Monroe St., had an unfortunate event happen this morning.

A robbery took place around 10 a.m. EST. We can report that no employees or members were harmed during the incident. As a co-op, Gulf Winds members and employees conduct business within a local family-like atmosphere and their safety is our main concern.

This is still an active, ongoing investigation with the Tallahassee Police Department. Gulf Winds is currently participating with law enforcement at this time.

The North Monroe St. branch is closed for today. All Gulf Winds branches will be open tomorrow.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department

A man entered the Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union on North Monroe Street a few minutes after 10 a.m.

Once inside the credit union, he held the tellers up at gun point with what was described as a hand gun.

The man demanded money, received it, and then left the premises.

No customers were inside the credit union at the time, and no injuries have been reported.

We are still waiting on a description of the suspect, as well as the suspect's vehicle.
