[UPDATE] Quincy, Florida - July 27, 2011 - 2:50pm -

Gadsden County Schools are no longer on lock down.

Larry Bourdeau, police captain with the Quincy Police Department, says the Focus Credit Union in Quincy was robbed at 12:56 pm on July 27th. The man was caught on surveillance cameras taking money from a teller, and he did have a handgun.

The suspect came and left on foot, but with a K9 unit, QPD found evidence of a getaway vehicle in the Green Street area a few blocks away.

Several employees were in the bank at the time. QPD said there weren't any customers in the bank at the time.

QPD suspects this is the same man who was involved with the Bank of America robbery several month ago.

QPD issued the following description of the suspect:

Black Male (approx 5-10”), wearing black over grey sweatshirt, black ball cap, white towel over face, two tone black and white Jordan sneakers and dark colored shorts.

Police have not said how much money the man took.

Eyewitness News will post the surveillance photos as soon as we get them from QPD.

Perhaps FOCUS Credit Union should hire full time security for the safety of employees and members. FOCUS should be able to afford such with all the money pouring in there from it's members.

That should be either "grave concern" or "gravely concerned" and it's "its members". That being said, this credit union isn't exactly flush with cash as its members are regular working folks. I would have only lost $7 myself, thank God for FDIC.

Obviously, you are not a member of FOCUS- YES, money is pouring in from its members-and FOCUS should hire security to protect members and employees. The issue is "safety first", not how much you have in your account. By-the-way, thanks for the correction "its", but the spelling of my first name is EXACTLY as I want it.

banks need to install bullet proof panels to protect the workers from robbers. Have a tray that opens to let the customer put their paperwork in. The banks could do way more to protect everybody. It's not hard.

How many shots were fired? They don't need protecting when the thugs don't use their weapons. They know that the bank tellers are instructed to comply with the thug.

All U people that are making smeared comments are thinking of your self, what about the employees that work there! Someone could have been taken hostage or even hurt! Employees have been there forever since behind Bell & Bates and they are like family! Thank God their safe, maybe shaken up but safe! We will continue to pray for them! Focus keep your heads up and thankful you guys are ok! Thanks for the service you brought me over the years!

Gadsden is loaded with gangs which bring drugs, robbery, violence etc. Their schools are like the minor leagues for the local gangs. This is simply an uncivilized area full of thugs and thugs in training

Lip Chunk check the status of the surrounding counties especially Leon county and tell me what you see without always scrutunizing Gadsden County. Sorry if I stepped on the civilized people of the county feet.
