Quincy, Florida - October 26, 2011 -

A robbery took place at the Focus Credit Union at the corner of Pat Thomas and Martin Luther King in Quincy. This is the second robbery at the Focus Credit Union this year, with the last robbery taking place in July 2011.

A spokesperson with the Quincy Police Department says that the robbery took place around 11am on October 26th. Witnesses say the male suspect came into the credit union, told the teller he had a gun, and demanded money. The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. QPD does not have the suspect in custody.

The suspect is described as a black male, around 67 inches tall with an average build. The suspect was last seen wearing a white hoodie, dark pants, and a skimask.

It's always amazing how people use this comment section to take digs at each other. Grow the hell up already! We all know that Quincy is largely a poverty stricken area and where there is poverty, crime flourishes. It's just the way it is, whether we like it or not. Security measures would be welcome at the credit union.

The banks aren't going to take on security personnel. They can't even get people to pay for the convenience of using a debit card which actually does cost the bank for people to use it. How much of a fee are you willing to pay for your personal security inside the bank?

Robbing a bank is a federal crime, locals just do paperwork and rarely are able to be in the specific area when a crime is occurring. How many of you just happed to be in the right place at the right time and were able to see a bank robbery? Exactly. As for the gangs and thugs well, be honest and look at the real perps of most of these violent crimes. There is an ugly issue no one wants to talk about. Hiring an armed guard is way more expensive than getting robbed once a year. So thats not an issue. Like I posted, there is a real issue here no one wants to deal with, and until we all as a community start facing the facts we will continue to be victimized, a majority of the time, by the "usual suspects".

Gangs dispaying colors in open in gretna I witnessed five black males standing on the side of the street with black hoodies and red bandanas in their right pocket. Red bandanas in right pocket are gang signs the red is used by the bloods a notorious gang. The police and sheriff should get on top of this now! before its too late.
