Dozens of residents stood outside as Leon County sheriff's deputies investigated a shooting.
Deputies searched around a home on the corner of Sonnet Drive and Stokley Lane in Northwest Tallahassee.
"Normally, this is just a quiet little Tallahassee neighborhood," said Greg Johnson, a resident who lives nearby.
People were shocked to hear it was a shooting that had occurred in their area, but officials say it was an accident.
LCSO got a call around 5 p.m. about a shooting.
At the scene, they found 19-year-old Te'Varris Ford with a gun shot wound in the leg.
He accidentally shot himself, deputies said.
"I was concerned because I have two kids here," Johnson said.
Ford was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials are still investigating exactly what happened.
