UPDATE By Candace Sweat 11/16 at 6pm

A Live Oak man is shot and lays dead on his porch for three days before anyone discovers his body. Now, in an exclusive interview with WCTV, the cousin who made that discovery is speaking out about the horrifying details.

Oscar White says he's seen a lot during his lifetime, but nothing could've prepared him for what he saw when he walked into the porch of his cousin's house last Wednesday.

"I could see him laying there. I knew. I knew he was dead. You could just tell. Wasn't no other way," said White.

White's cousin, 64-year-old Manuel Raulerson, lay dead, shot to death. A medical examiner says he had been there for at least three days.

That explains why White says he hadn't heard from him since the previous Friday. "Squeaky" , as family members called him, worked for White on his farm taking care of calves.

It wasn't unusual, says White, for Raulerson to take off work a little early on some days. Only this time he never came back.

"His son called me and he said 'have you talked to daddy?'", said White. "And I said no not in the last three or four days. I'm gonna go see about him"

Authorities say when they arrived on the scene, they initially thought Raulerson had died of natural cases.

"It just looked like he had a heart attack and fell over."

But an autopsy later revealed he was shot in the chest. Now investigators at the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office have officially ruled his death a homicide.

And even more disturbing, says White, is what he sees as and effort to cry for help. One that never made it.

White said, "He had his phone, his cell phone in his hand. The deputy got it out of his hand and he says 'Its got 911 on it''"

A spokesperson from the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office says they're not releasing information about suspects at this time, but they are following leads.

UPDATED By Candace Sweat 11/15 at 6pm

64-year-old Manuel Raulerson , also known to friends as "Squeaky", was discovered shot to death on his porch at 19130 76th Street Wednesday morning.

Sheriff Tony Cameron with the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office says Raulerson's son had not heard from him in several days and sent someone to check on him that's when they say he was found dead.

Authorities say they initially thought Raulerson died of natural causes, but an autopsy found otherwise.

"The body was in a state of decomposition, and it was not initially found by rescue or the sheriff's office that he had been shot," said Cameron.

Cameron says they're not releasing information about suspects at this time, but says they are following leads. He also says Raulerson's wallet is missing.
