Press Release: Tallahassee Police Department
The Tallahassee Police Department is currently accepting applications for the 2013 summer student leadership program, T.A.C. Students, which will be held August 5th-9th. The acronym in T.A.C. Students represents Training, Achievement, and Confidence.
The program is designed to challenge high school students to become leaders by participating in four interactive topics: Decision-Making, Defining Relationships, Planning Your Future, and Becoming A Leader. The students will have hands-on experiences to emphasize teamwork and leadership, such as: Mock Medic Rescue, Mock Crime Scene Investigation and Processing, and Decision-Making Scenarios. Each topic is led by police officers, investigators, tactical operators, and other professionals to make the experience both exciting and challenging.
The Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI) will once again host T.A.C. Students. The FPSI, which is a police academy, is providing facilities and resources that bring more authenticity to the T.A.C. Students experience.
There is no cost to participate and there are a limited number of spots for this summer’s program. To request an application, please visit http://www.talgov.com/tpd/tpd-tac-students.aspx or call Officer Danny Jeter at 891-4582 ext. 90608
