The Tallahassee Police Department sent a press release yesterday, May 19th, regarding a robbery at Bealls, located on Capital Circle North East earlier this week. That release included several photos of the suspect inside the store.
This morning, as he arrived at work and reviewed his e-mail, Officer Bill Brannon saw the release and photographs. He immediately recognized the suspect as Emmanuel Edwards. Officer Brannon then observed a bicycle matching the one described during the incident, outside of Edward’s residence. Investigator Bob Todd responded to the residence, and continued the investigation. Additional evidence was located, and Edwards was eventually arrested for the incident.

Tallahassee, Florida - May 20, 2011 -
Tallahassee Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery Monday, May 16 at approximately 1:35pm. A black male entered Bealls (3240 Capital Circle North East) selected a pair of shoes, and walked out without paying. A Bealls Loss Prevention employee attempted to detain the suspect, leading to a struggle in the parking lot. During the struggle, the suspect threatened the employee with a knife and then fled the area on a bicycle. The suspect traveled southbound on Capital Circle NE riding a blue ten speed bicycle with white curved handle bars.
The suspect is described as follows:
Black/Male, 40-50 years-old, 5’08-5’11, 175-200lbs, white t-shirt, khaki shorts, blue and white tennis shoes, short black hair, red hat, glasses, and a black back pack.
The victim was not injured during this incident.
