This morning at approximately 10:33a.m. a citizen called TPD to report a suspicious male in the parking lot of Bills Bookstore on Tennessee Street. The caller said there was a light skinned black male, wearing a long black T-shirt, black pants and putting on a ski mask in the parking lot. She said she last saw him run around to the back of the store.
Officers were dispatched to the store, but due to the time delay, the suspect was no longer on scene. The follow up investigation revealed that as the male entered the store, the store employees (6 in total) saw him coming and went to the back of the store and locked themselves in a safe area. It is unknown if the male was able to take anything from the store at this time, before he fled on foot. The investigation revealed he ran to a dark purple or burgundy dodge vehicle with the two back windows having tint, and a spare tire on the front. There was reportedly a black female driving the vehicle.
Community members with information about the case are asked to call TPD at 891-4200 or the Big Bend Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS. Crime Stoppers does not want your name, just your information and you may be eligible for a cash reward. Please remember, if you see something, say something, do something.
