Tallahassee, Florida- June 29,20102
Over the last several months the Tallahassee Police Department has seen an increase in burglaries to businesses in the downtown area. The suspects seem to be targeting laptop computers.
To blend in with the downtown area, suspects are using a sophisticated method of operation that includes dressing in business attire. TPD is asking our downtown merchants to be aware of suspicious persons entering their offices, whom they do not recognize. On several occasions, a business employee has stated they saw a suspicious person in their building just before a theft occurred.
Should a business suspect they are being targeted for a burglary, please call TPD at (850) 891-4200 immediately.
TPD investigators are attempting to identify the suspects in these cases. Community members with information about any of these cases are asked to call TPD or the Big Bend Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS. Crime Stoppers does not want your name, just your information and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
