A Tallahassee man is now under arrest and accused of throwing the first punch in a deadly fight.

Tyrone Guinnie is charged with second degree murder in the death of 29-year-old George Brewster.

Arrest papers say Brewster was beat up in the parking lot of Stratford Landing Apartments on Mission Road last Tuesday and found dead inside his apartment three days later.

Police say Guinnie threw the first punch in that fight and pistol whipped Brewster in the side of the head. Once Brewster was on the ground, arrest papers say, other people joined in kicking him and stomping on him.

"We do believe we have more people that have more information about this case, and we're asking that they contact us and let us know what they say," TPD Spokesman Scott Beck said.

"And are more people going to be arrested in this case?"

"We are seeking additional suspects. It's still an ongoing investigation," Beck said.

Autopsy results cited in the arrest report said Brewster died from a traumatic brain injury.

Police could not say how long he'd been dead inside his second story apartment, but neighbors told us they hadn't seen him since the night of the fight.

Tallahassee, FL - A water leak leads to the discovery of a man dead inside of his Tallahassee apartment.

Police are investigating it as a murder.

"When I saw him, he was in bad shape." Michael Houston says the last time he saw George Brewster, one of the 30-year-old's eye was swollen shut and the other was blood-shot.

Houston says, "For those guys to jump on him and beat him up like that, that was uncalled for; and I'm very hurt. I miss my friend."

Brewster was found dead inside of his apartment in Stratford Landing on Friday. Tallahassee Police have determined he was killed.

OFC Scott Beck with the Tallahassee Police Department says, "When the patrol officers find that it is a death investigation, they'll notify the Violent Crimes Unit. Procedurally we will schedule an autopsy and at that time, the autopsy will conclude the cause of death."

Witnesses say Brewster was beaten by about five men here in the parking lot of the apartment complex around 9:30 Tuesday night.

Houston says Thursday night, water began leaking into his apartment from Brewster's apartment above. He says he called maintenance after Brewster didn't answer the door. Houston says the employee finally went into the apartment Friday morning, and that's when they found Brewster's body.

Houston says he'd last spoken to Brewster Wednesday when he gave Brewster some Aloe. "I was telling him to try to drink some of that and see could he make himself better since he wasn't going to the hospital. But, I guess it didn't work." Houston says.

Police are asking anyone with information on Brewster's death, to call the Tallahassee Police Department at (850) 606-5800 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
