MADISON, Fla.-- Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Thursday, July 3, at 3:41 PM a deputy of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located on NW US 221 in Greenville to investigate a burglary and theft.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim, who reported that she had returned home from the store and found that her residence was in disarray. The victim reported that an XBOX 360 game console, SONY PlayStation 3 game console and $1,230 in mixed currency was missing from the residence.

The deputy identified the point of entry to be a broken window to a back bedroom. The deputy was able to collect evidence and identify a juvenile suspect.

After interviewing the juvenile in the presence of a parent, the deputy learned the location of the stolen game consoles as well as the identity of two more juvenile suspects involved. He was taken to a trail in a nearby wooded area where the stolen game consoles hidden inside a pillow case concealed with brush were located.

After recovering the stolen game consoles the deputy located the other two suspects and arrested all three juveniles. During post arrest interviews with parents and guardians present, the deputy was able to obtain a confession from all three suspects however each suspect denied stealing the currency.

The currency was not recovered.
