According to the Madison County Sheriff, a Deputy of the Madison County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no tag Friday June 20, 2014 around 4:40 p.m. at a residence off of Old County Camp Road.

Once the vehicle stopped the passenger (identified as Cedrick Gee) left the car and walked away. The deputy knew Gee had an active warrant for arrest and told Gee to stop. Gee took off running around the corner of the residence.

The deputy chased after Gee as he ran into the back door of the residence. The deputy ran to the front door to catch Gee but Gee ran back out the rear. The deputy continued to tell Gee to stop but Gee ignored and continued to run until he tripped.

The deputy took out his department issued taser and told Gee to stay on the ground and not move. Gee tried to get up and continued running and caused the deputy to release the taser to stop him. Afterwards, Gee was taken into custody without further incident and charged with resist/obstruct of a law enforcement officer.

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday June 20, 2014 at 6:50 pm a Deputy of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office saw 22-year old Austin Douglas standing in front of KFC on Base Street. The Deputy knew that Douglas had an active warrant for his arrest. The Deputy approached Douglas and told him that there was a warrant for him and he was under arrest. The Deputy instructed Douglas to turn around and put his hands behind his back.

Douglas turned around and ran through the parking lot and into the woods behind Pizza Hut. The Deputy chased Douglas on foot and requested other officers to respond and establish a perimeter. Multiple Deputies surrounded the swampy area with one deputy still engaged in foot pursuit and ordering Douglas to stop.

Douglas continued to run and tried to climb a fence when a second perimeter Deputy spotted Douglas. The second Deputy used his taser gun and Douglas immediately fell to the ground. Stewart was taken into custody without further incident for resisting arrest and obstruction with a law enforcement officer along with his arrest warrant.
