VPD: Body Found in Valdosta, Foul Play Suspected

Valdosta, Georgia - October 13, 2011

Valdosta Police say they went to 108 Wilkerson Avenue around 11 Wednesday night to check on the woman.

When they arrived on scene they found the Hispanic female, who appears to be in her mid 30's dead.

Police suspect foul play. Her body is being taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory for an autopsy Friday.

Investigators have not released the woman's identity.

And police say they don't know the cause of death at this point.

But they are questioning a person of interest.

Neighbors tell me the people who lived at the home haven't lived there long.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Valdosta Police Department at 229-293-3145.

The body has not been identified.

The autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
