Victim: Ivory Foster, African American male, 21 years of age, Valdosta resident
Valdosta, Georgia - September 23, 2011 -
On September 23, 2011 at approximately 0230 hours, the Valdosta Police Department was dispatched to the SGMC ER in reference to a gunshot victim. Officers arrived and spoke to Ivory Foster who indicated that he was involved in an argument at “Club Legion” and that all the persons involved were escorted out. Foster stated that he went to the Hudson Docket Housing Complex, 807 S. Fry Street, to drop someone off and while he was there a red, Chevrolet Impala pulled up and the person who he was arguing with at the club got out and started hitting him with a handgun. Foster said that he was defending himself when a second person got out of the car and assaulted him also, then the first suspect shot him in the back. Foster was grazed in the right shoulder by the bullet and he was driven to the ER by some friends. Foster also suffered a broken jaw, but his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department responded to investigate. Foster indicated that he has seen the suspects before, but did not know their names. Foster described the suspect who shot him as an African American male, approximately 5’9”, and approximately 280 pounds. He described the other suspect as an African American male, approximately 6’2”, thin build, and approximately 150 pounds. No further information is available at this time.
