Valdosta Prowler Arrested

On March 21, 2014 at approximately 4:48 am, while patrolling in the 300 block of E. Gordon Street, two Valdosta Police Department Patrol Officers observed a suspicious person crouch down behind a vehicle.

On March 21, 2014 at approximately 4:48 am, while patrolling in the 300 block of E. Gordon Street, two Valdosta Police Department Patrol Officers observed a suspicious person crouch down behind a vehicle. The officers began to approach and identified themselves as police officers. The person, later identified as Kareme Kier, fled on foot. A short foot pursuit occurred as the officers gave multiple commands for Kier to stop. Kier was apprehended and continued to resist arrest. He was eventually placed in handcuffs and transported to the Lowndes County Jail. Kier was charged with Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer (2 counts), Prowling, and Possession of Tools During the Commission of a Crime. Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department continued a further investigation based on evidence and property collected by the patrol officers and were able to obtain arrest warrants on Kier for Motor Vehicle Theft and 3 counts of Theft by Entering Auto.
