Valdosta, GA - On December 13, 2010 at approximately 2310 hours, the Valdosta Police Department responded to South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC) in reference to a gunshot victim.
Officers arrived at the hospital and spoke to the victim, who indicated that he had been shot at and was “grazed” in the left shoulder. The victim advised that the incident occurred in the 1000 block of E. Cranford Avenue.
According to the hospital the wound was superficial, non life threatening, and he was treated and released.
Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department Investigations Unit and a Crime Scene Technician from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory were called out to investigate. At this point the Valdosta Police Department has received conflicting information and Detectives are trying to determine the validity of the information provided by the victim.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending further investigation. No further information is available at this time.
