Sheriff Race Gets Heated in Wakulla County

Wakulla County, FL---

Suzanne Smith has signs in her front yard supporting Charlie Creel for sheriff. Wakulla County Undersheriff Maurice Langston is running against the former FHP trooper for sheriff. And Smith thinks whoever destroyed her mailbox did it because of the Creel signs in her yard.

Suzanne Smith's mailbox has been repaired now, but she says this is not the first time her mailbox has been destroyed and her home has been vandalized.

"Dumping garbage, they've destroyed some of our trees," says Smith.

Smith says she's a huge supporter for candidates every election. And for the past 5 years, every time there's a sign in her yard vandals attack her home.

"Folks should have the right to vote for who they want to and put signs up and show their support for these people without someone coming along and knocking the signs down or being ugly about it," says Karen Hall, Wakulla County Resident.

"I think now I may become more active again, because I'm not going to be intimidated," says Smith.

Suzanne Smith says the Sheriff's Office told her husband that a car might have accidentally ran over her mailbox, but Smith still believes it was politically motivated.

The sheriff's office has not confirmed the incident to be an act of vandalism stemmed from the sheriff's race.

Will David still drive the Wakulla election process from his new position? Free and fair elections, that would be novel in Wakulla. Good luck Charlie.

I hear that Sheriff Crum demoted all captains but 2 so does that now mean this agency has about 30 Lt. If this agency dont get new leadership then it needs to be exterminated just like a bed of roaches because other than 2 or 3 good people that work there the rest are just crooks

That is just incorrect, there are 2 captains for the jail alone

THis really is crazy. One woman evidently complained and look what happened, The first few comments came after Creel, since you people are so smart, don't you think that he thinks this is a mute point. Lots of mailboxes get knocked down, but no you people want to jump to conclusions about the Creel camp doing this. What happened Brother Langston about "casting the first stone"....just like the rumors. There's no question who cast the first stone on this issue....100% Langston supporters. If you don't believe then scroll back to the first several comments. It says it all. Now why don't everyone hush and let's get on to more important discussions instead of a mailbox, like why Langston is directing all jurors of their role instead of the Judges. I'm sure defense attorneys will love that. Why don't we discuss how fair that is......or better yet, what about the WCSO letting two bailiffs go that were probably making 10,000 per year so that L. Massa could be a baliff on a major's salary. And before all of you tell me he's a captain, I know, but he's still making the same salary. Let's talk about that all you supporters!!!!!!!

After an evening of drinking at The Ole Wildwood Pub King David driving his Danali Charoit ran over the mailbox and left the scene and headed to Rehwinkle Castle where he summoned Prince Maurice to come and help with the cover-up. The Prince returned to the scene and put the Ole Mailbox up to throw the Serfs off.
