Miami, FL (AP) - The American Civil Liberties Union says no appeal
to the Florida Supreme Court is necessary to bring a final end to
the state's ban on gay adoptions.
ACLU attorneys said Thursday a state appeals court ruling that
the adoption ban is unconstitutional applies statewide. Gov.
Charlie Crist also said based on that ruling the state would no
longer enforce the three-decade-old ban that is the nation's
The ACLU and gay parent Martin Gill are urging Crist to let the
case end to prevent more legal uncertainty. Crist officials say no
decision has been made on a state Supreme Court appeal.
The 3rd District Court of Appeal on Wednesday upheld a lower
court's finding that there is "no rational basis" for the gay
adoption ban.

James...Wow! Perhaps if you read the court findings and the a.k.a. "research" that was submitted to the court, you will find that it was "unfounded". Since you are familiar with the word "empirical" you should also know that empirical research and empirical data is to be free of researcher bias...I guess they missed that part of the concept? It's time to move away from the "good old boy" mentality.

Shows just how "rational" the 3rd District Court of Appeals is. Its definition of rational must be its own, not what rational actually means. Sorry, but no court will ever tell me that it is rational to let little children see two women, or two men, kissing as a daddy/daddy - mommy/mommy household. It is sickening, and just proves that our Founding Fathers made at least one mistake when forming our Constitution, and that is allowing such arbitrary judicial mockery of what is actually normal and right in society. The 3rd District must be full of gay appointees from the Clinton Administration. I know for a fact that empirical research was the basis for Florida's denial for same-sex parental adoptions, but suddenly, that research became moot when the real peer-reviewed research came out of the closet and was forced down society's throat. Real only in the sense of political correctness and manipulation. Anyone with an ounce of morals knows that letting children be exposed to such is wrong.
