Ocala, Florida --

A mobile home fire in north Florida killed a 75-year-old woman and her 70 dogs.

The September 26 fire in Marion County tore through the home's roof and almost all of the structure.

Authorities say the unidentified woman may have been a dog
breeder.

She died less than 10 minutes after rescue crews removed her
from the mobile home.

Authorities are investigating the blaze.

Mother, to one who bares the sweetest name, and adds a luster to the same, who shares my joys and chears when sad, the best friend I ever had. long life to her, for there's no other, can take the place on my dear Mother. I love you mom

I do feel bad for the lady & her family. I simply said the smell in the home must of been terrible. My relatives home smells so strong of cat urine & smelly dogs that I cannot visit. I do not feel its being selfish or heartless when you choose not to be in an unhealthy environment like that especially when you have children. There are other ways of keeping in contact & sometimes that's what you have to do.

JANICE--I don't know what kind of dogs they were,BUT their are few breeds THAT DON'T HAVE A SMELL. I had a BASENJI ONCE AND ONE THAT PART TERRIER/BASENJI. THEY DIDN'T SMELL. They known by not being a smelly pet. I think it is real bad that you don't visit anymore. This could have been your relative. Would you miss this person and wish you had. Really, surely a short visit will not kill you. Take air fresher for the room you stay in. Just be decrite about it. ALSO it mieght be the cat smell that is bad. I HAD a old cat that took up with us. AT the time I also had 4 dogs before him. We had little trouble with smell till we got him. The litter box was the problem. We tried everything. We only had his love for a few years and even with the problem we MISS HIM. I agree 70 is ALOT. AT THIS time we don't know why. YOU must remember this lady seems to be alone. Maybe that is why. Lonelyness can give way to things you wouldn't do is not. ALL OF YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. She was a living soul.

Not a proponent of breeding...or keeping that many dogs, but gosh at the comments. This woman and her animals died in a fire.

70 dogs in a home! I can't imagine the smell! I have a relative that has about 10 cats & 3 dogs in their house and needless to say I don't visit anymore!
