8th Annual Dining in the Dark

Imagine eating an entire meal in total darkness. Relying only on your other senses to feel, smell, taste and touch what you're eating.
That's what participants of the 8th annual Dining in the Dark got to experience at the University Club Sunday.
The event is meant to simulate what it's like to be blind or visually impaired.
The event benefits the Lighthouse of the Big Bend. The non-profit group works to help people who are blind or visually impaired.
"The biggest thing is that people find out that hey it's still a lot of fun. You still enjoy it and see that people with visual impairment can succeed and enjoy dining out," says Fred Sanguiliano of the Lighthouse of the Big Bend.
Dining in the Dark raises money for visually impaired people. The group is hoping to raise about $35,000 this year
