Members of TPD, the Leon County Sheriff's Department and FSU Police swarmed into the parking lot at Doak Campbell Stadium Saturday 5-5-12. But it wasn't to make a big arrest.
They were there to take part in the 8th annual Capital City Challenge. Officers rode their bikes through different obstacles courses for awards and to raise money for the Special Olympics Leon County and the Kids First Fund.
"It's a great feeling. We've been doing it for eight years now and we enjoy it. It's a good cause. We raise money for them so they can go to their events without any cost to them," says Deputy Pat Moran.
"It's great for me to acknowledge what the local law enforcement does for the community and for FSU, our students and everything that goes on around here and I think sometimes those guys aren't appreciated enough and we have great appreciation for what they do and respect for what they do," says FSU football coach, Jimbo Fisher.
