Tallahassee, FL --May 25, 2012--

For many the holiday weekend has already started and AAA says it is going to be a busy one. It says more than 30 million drivers will travel 50 miles or more this weekend. This is the largest number of memorial travelers AAA has seen since 2008. The reason is lower gas prices.

"What we've been seeing here each week is been anywhere from a 3 to 7 cent decrease all over the state of Florida . That is a 34 cent drop from this same time last year when gasoline prices started to slowly go up so that is a significant savings to the motorist," says Brenda Smith, AAA spokeswoman.

AAA counts the holiday weekend as Friday through midnight on Monday. It says Friday 5-25-12 is the busiest travel day of the weekend.

We have one of the highest mortality rates in the unincorporated areas of Leon County. I hope the Sheriff's office does not spend the holiday watching border checkpoints. What a waste of resources. We really need a Sheriff who wants to something other than campaign. The people of Leon are tired. We respect your years of service, but it really is time to move on and spend time with your family.

Gas prices are the reason, no big mystery here.

Not half as many as there were in '08 when Obama took over. Or '09,'10'11'12. Why hasn't Obama been able to accomplish anything in 3 and 1/2 years other than inciting racism, giving away money we don't have, going on extravagant vacations and world tours, failing to prosecute certain segments of the population and breaking 100 on his golf score?

"Not half as many as there were in '08 when Obama took over. Or '09,'10'11'12."? What are you comparing? I don't like Obama either, but at least use honest arguments. He did say yes when we he had the opportunity to get Osama! Of course any other person in the Office would have said yes, so it isn't a big thing. He did put a stop to the pipeline. he has accomplished some things, just not the right things.
