Utility crews from Alabama are helping Florida residents cope with damage from Tropical Storm Debby.
A spokesman for Alabama Power says the utility has sent 218 of its crew members and 164 contract workers to help in Tampa, Sarasota and other areas along the western coast of Florida.
A spokeswoman for the Alabama electric cooperatives says 10 service crews of three to five workers each have gone from the Baldwin, Covington and Pioneer electric cooperatives to help in Quincy, Fla., and two crews from the Central Alabama Electric Cooperative are assisting in Madison, Fla.
