The FSUPD says a staff member was walking into Carothers Hall when she said hello to a man in the parking lot.
This same man would eventually try to sexually assault her just five minutes later.
The woman walked inside a restroom. The suspect then followed her in. When she came out of this stall, she found the man with his pants down.
"He indicates to her verbally he's going to assault her," FSUPD Deputy Chief Jim Russell said. "He basically says 'don't say anything' at which she immediately begins to physically resist."
Police say the woman grabbed the suspect in the groin, bit his neck and hit him over the head with a paper towel dispenser.
"He takes off after that. He's got someone who's resisting very forcefully."
After the suspect took quite a beating from the victim, the man ran out of the building and headed toward Woodward street. Police say several witnesses actually saw the man run out of the building. You can read a description of the man further in the article.
The victim did not suffer physical injuries but the entire event has some students worried.
"It's kind of concerning though because it's happened right inside this campus," said FSU grad student Paul San Valentin.
