Chipley, Florida –
The public boat ramp under the Wakulla River Bridge will be closed Tuesday, October 26, 2010 through Saturday, October 30, 2010. The ramp closure will allow crews from Anderson Columbia Company, Inc. room to remove the final span of the old bridge. The work is part of a project to build a new bridge across the Wakulla River on U.S. 98. Work began in August 2009 and is expected to be completed by the end of November 2010. Traffic moved to the new bridge Tuesday, October 5.
Boaters are reminded the area under the bridge is a work zone. Motorists are reminded to use caution and obey traffic flaggers while traveling through work zone.
