"No, it's not the way I'd want it. You know Joe and I had a good battle going for years," said former Florida State head football coach Bobby Bowden.

Coach Bowden talked about the back and forth exchanging of wins that he and former Penn State Coach Joe Paterno had. NCAA sanctions have now stripped Paterno of 111 wins, making Bowden the all-time winningest coach in FBS history.

"It's not something we can rejoice about," said Bowden. "The Bowden family cannot rejoice, although I wish I could."

Bowden says he's not rejoicing because his record is a direct fallout from the child sexual abuse case against Jerry Sandusky while Sandusky was at Penn State. Bowden says that's the bigger issue here.

Fans of the FSU program believe that the NCAA's ruling against Penn State was justified.

"I think they handled it pretty fairly, considering what went down. That's pretty unacceptable when it comes to a big facility like that," said FSU sophomore Sam Neyer.

"That's great for us I just wish it was in a way that was more constructive for the program and in not such a negative light," added Allen West, an FSU senior.

Even with the record, Coach Bowden believes that everyone involved will have to try to move on, and heal.

"It's just a dark spot, and we all have got to get over it somehow."
