PARKER, Fla. (AP) -- Officials say the 12-year-old boy arrested after stealing a school bus earlier this summer is accused of stealing another bus.

The boy was arrested Wednesday after he was stopped for erratic driving in the Florida Panhandle.

The News-Herald of Panama City reports the boy found a key left hidden in a school bus at Parker Elementary School after a bus driver finished his route and drove to Franklin County, Southeast of Panama City.

Bay District Schools safety and security officer Mike Jones says the boy had just been released from the Department of Juvenile Justice a day earlier.

He's charged with trespassing on school property, grand theft auto and burglary.

He is accused of stealing a bus in June and taking it on a joyride in Panama City Beach.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities in Panama City have arrested a 12-year-old for taking a school bus on a joy ride.

The Panama City News Herald reported Wednesday that Wal-Mart employees called sheriff's deputies after noticing the bus being driven erratically through their parking lot early Tuesday. Employees say the child appeared to be having problems parking the bus.

According to deputies, the bus was taken from a local residence and the boy had apparently driven it 14 miles. The keys had been left inside the bus.

School district officials say camera footage from the bus showed that the boy appeared to handle the bus well.

He is in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice and has been charged with grand theft and felony criminal mischief.
