A 12-year-old boy has minor injuries after he was hit by a van while he was riding his bike along a Leon County street.
The Leon County Sheriff's says a van was driving east on Bannerman Road around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25.
As the van approached the intersection of Bannerman Road and Standing Pines Lane, the Sheriff's Office says the boy rode out into the road on his bike. The driver saw the boy, but was unable to avoid hitting him.
The Sheriff's Office says the boy's injuries are minor. He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
The accident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
The driver of the van did stay on scene. It's unknown if the boy was wearing a helmet.
