Tallahassee, FL- Folks in Tallahassee will be hosting some special visitors over the next week.
Representatives from C-SPAN and Comcast joined Mayor John Marks as well as members of the community at the John G. Riley House and Museum Tuesday morning.
The event kicked off a week-long visit in which C-SPAN representatives will be interviewing several people in Tallahassee, including local historians, authors, and civic leaders.
The segments will then be broadcasted as part of their '2014 Cities Tour.'
City officials say they're looking forward to Tallahassee's rich history being recognized on a national level.
"They're going to visit Mission San Luis, they're going to visit the Riley House, they're going to visit a number of other venues like that, that shows our diversity and shows how inclusive we are in the city of Tallahassee," Mayor Marks said.
Programming recorded in Tallahassee will air on Book TV/C-SPAN2 (Comcast channel 104) and American History TV/C-SPAN3 (Comcast channel 105 ) on March 15 and 16, 2014. C-SPAN is available in Tallahassee on Comcast channel 18.
