News Release: Midway Police Department
July 23, 2014
The Midway Police Department wants to remind all citizens that if you are in a life threatening emergency to please call 911. Those 3 numbers are the best way to ensure that you receive help from emergency services personnel.
Chief Turner states, “Our police officers work 24/7/365, however many residents are under the impression that we have an officer answering the non-emergency police department number around the clock. We want all citizens and residents to understand that if you have an emergency to call 911 first and foremost; police officers are on duty working patrol 24/7/365 in the City.”
If you have an emergency please dial 911 and an officer and/or emergency services personnel will be dispatched to your location.
However, if you have a non-life threatening emergency and just need to make contact with an officer please call our Communications Center to have an officer contact you.
That number is 850-875-8825. The Midway Police Department wants to remind all citizens to “Help Us, Help You”. To receive text message updates from MPD please send a text message to the short code: 888777 with MIDWAYPD in the message field.
Midway Police Department began 24 hour law enforcement services in June of 2013 due to an increased need for reliable 24 hour law enforcement coverage for the City of Midway. Previously the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office handled calls after 12am.
