Tallahassee, FL - Investors, business owners, and Boosters all turned out to Madison Social for the announcement of Collegetown Phase Two.
It's been one year since CollegeTown broke ground on Madison Street. Apartments, shops, and restaurants fill the space now, but developers announced today that much more could be coming to the area. They say the CollegeTown area has become a gameday destination. Because of its proximity to the University, they want to attract students as well as young adults. They've already planned for a drug store and are hoping to get a grocery store and a boutique hotel in Phase Two.
"I mean the fact that the local government and the University and Boosters have all worked together and transformed this area, and then the fact that Gaines Street is completely fixed, which draws more people to want to good things here, is awesome. And I think we need to continue to develop it that way."
Condos as well as a parking garage are also in the works for the area. The developers say parts of CollegeTown Phase Two could be ready as soon as August of 2015.
